Opaque Polyhedral Dice Set - Ivory

Posted by Thomas on Sep 29th 2020

Overall, very nice dice. If one may be allowed to wax poetic about something as quotidian as....dice. The ivory is a lovely color, with just the tiniest hint of translucence. They really appear to be ivory! They add a touch of elegance or finesse to the table, without being gauche or gaudy (not that there is anything wrong with flashy dice!) The texture and feel of the plastic is also very nice. They just feel good in the hand, resonate with a satisfying clatter on a Formica kitchen table, and bring joy in the simple act of rolling. The black fill in the numerals is fairly well done, with very minor spots that aren't perfectly filled in, or maybe chipped. But they are certainly acceptable (hence 4 stars.) The flats are flat, and the edges tumbled enough to smooth them out nicely. They aren't sharp, like some other more precise dice, but I personally prefer that. These dice roll well, and generate numbers, so they are serving their purpose. I especially like Chessex's d4 design with the rolled value on the peak of the tetrahedron, rather than on the base. Overall, great dice!
