Poker Dice Rules
In this simple little dice game, your goal is to roll a poker hand that ranks highest among all players in a single round of play. Usually multiple hands are played during a single game.
To play, you'll need five regular 6-sided dice, although having special Poker Dice certainly adds to the fun. You'll also want to have at least two players and a score sheet. If you're playing Poker Dice as a betting game, use poker chips as well for tracking wins and losses.
If you're using regular 6-sided dice to play poker dice, then each side corresponds to the following:
6 = Single Club (Ace)
5 = Red King
4 = Green Queen
3 = Blue Jack
2 = Ten Diamonds
1 = Nine Spades
How To Play Poker Dice
Select a player to begin.
(If playing with chips, players should ante up by placing a chip in the middle of the table as the pot.)
Begin your turn by rolling all five dice. After this initial roll, decide which (if any) of the dice you want to set aside for scoring. Any dice set aside for scoring are not locked. They may be included in any reroll if the player so chooses.
You may roll the non-scoring dice up to two more times during your turn, choosing which dice to set aside for scoring after each roll. You may also choose to end your turn after the first or second roll.
At the end of the three rolls, determine your final hand using all five dice, then pass the dice to the next player.
Continue in this manner until all players have taken a turn. The player with the highest-ranking poker hand is the winner. If playing with chips, that player wins the pot.
If two or more players are tied to win at the end of a round, then those players should roll their turns again until a clear winner is established.

How To Score Poker Dice
The dice hands rank as follows (from highest to lowest):
Five of a Kind (Example: 4-4-4-4-4)
Four of a Kind (Example: 4-4-4-4-2)
Full House (Three of a kind and a pair) (Example: 4-4-4-2-2)
Straight (Example: 1-2-3-4-5)
Three of a kind (Example: 4-4-4-2-1)
Two pair (Example: 4-4-2-2-1)
One pair (Example: 4-4-5-2-1)
Highest ranking die (Aces (6) are high, then fives, fours, threes, etc.)
Before play begins, players may wish to decide whether to include a Straight as a scoring option. Some variations of Poker Dice don't include them. Also, some Poker Dice rules rank the Straight higher than the full house.
And that's it. The player with the highest hand wins each game, and the player with the most wins over the course of several games is the ultimate winner!
